Layton is a city in Davis County, Utah, United States. It is named after Christopher Layton, a Mormon colonizer and leader. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 58,474 and by 2004 had been estimated at 61,205. Layton is located at 41441N, 1115719W (41.077919, -111.955328)GR1.

The racial makeup of the city was 89.91% White, 1.61% African American, 0.53% Native American, 2.08% Asian, 0.27% Pacific Islander, 3.09% from other races, and 2.52% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.96% of the population.
